I need some tech help from anyone with a low mileage 78-79 L-82. I need to know what the correct plating of the Walker exhaust clamps, nuts and hanger bolts is.I have an original GM exhaust system I am refinishing and I can not find this information anywhere including the 78-79 NCRS judging manual. Please post any information or E mail Dave.
If Brian P of NCRS gets this message please sent me your E mail address,I tried the one you gave me but it didn't work.
I'm currently working on a 78 L-48 with 17,000 miles. The forward two exhaust clamps were the flattened style with an embossed K on top, they appear to have been gold cadmium on the u-bolts but I'm unsure about the saddles and nuts. On the rear four clamps, the u-bolts appear to have been natural as well as the saddles and the nuts appear to be gray phosphate. Hope this helps.
