The 67 Judging Guide says the the carburetor return spring bracket was painted engine color on the base engine but cad or zinc plated on other 327's.
I have a 67 base engine and in painting it for the first time, I noticed that the return spring bracket on mine was cad or zinc plated, so I didn't paint it. Anybody come across this.

On my 67 300 HP base engine (22049), it was zinc plated. Maybe one of those anomolies.
Owner since 1968, and the first time the engine has been repainted. Even found the rear head gasket tab.
