My early 65 4 speed corvette. Has anyone removed/repalced their park brake handle? My handle has some type of (roll?) pin retaining it, but the end is flattened to the point it is hard to determine what it is. How did you remove/install new? My 57 was easy. Also, has anyone ever opened up their original brake switch and clean up the contacts and reassemble with any success? My switch is giving me inconsistent readings with my ohmeter. If I can bend the 3 crimps back fron the bakelite back and get to the contacts it should clean up. Thanks!

Re: 65 Interior brake related ???
I recently replaced the E-brake handle on our '65 with a repro from Paragon.
If you intend to reuse your original you can carefully drill out the old roll pin. If you intend to replace the old one you can drill the opposite side of the roll pin and drive it out with a pin punch.
The repro's have a set screw for attachment but I did not use it. I installed a new roll pin using JB weld and you cannot tell the hole in the handle is threaded.
Sorry but cannot help with the brake light switch except they show up on eBay frequently.- Top
