      Steve,

I believe the original part number for an 11" 67 BB flywheel would be 3889694, with a casting number of 3789733. I have to assume the 3889694 was changed to 3988759 if that's wat was shown in your book but that had to have happened some time after about 1969 or 70.

Thanks. The casting number was close to the part number (same number of characters) and that confused me....

I'll look up the original casting/part numbers later just to make sure I have them correct. I know for sure though that the 3988759 is a later part, not original for a 63-67.

According to the parts manual, 1982 version, that is the flywheel part number for 66 - 69

              Steve,

According to the 66 and 69 printing of the parts book, the correct original part number for an 11" flywheel for 66-69 BB was 3889694. The 694 was replaced by a 3998281 in June of 1971 and that's the same number that's listed in a 1973 printing. If it changed to the 3988759 that you listed, it happened later than the latest printing that I have here.

I believe the original 3889694 would have the 3789733 casting number but I'm not sure. I don't know if any of the later replacement part numbered wheels would have that casting number either but I suppose it's possible.

                Re: 427 flywheel

I looked in my parts manual again (REV 11/81) and that is the part number 3988759. It looks like the number changed a few times since 1967......
                Thanks. Steve
