can you ID this WCFB

I guess my request was NOT as clear as it could have been.

I have a 4 barrel WCFB with airhorn number 6-1354. Can anyone tell me what year Corvette this carburetor belongs to???

Mike, My reference source shows this air horn as 1958 Corvette single WCFB. Regards, Jim

Do you know if the '57 WCFB (later model) is exactly like the one I have, the '58 one??

I'll have to guess on this one, probably not. Air horn and main body number castings would be different. The '58 WCFB probably has a high choke housing location, the '57 a low one. Possibly a late'57 build Corvette would came hrough with an early '58 WCFB. I dshould think the '58 an Up hill sell to an NCRS judge. Regards,

My recollection is all WCFB's had high mounted choke assys until 1960...

Also, the current Judging Guide allows for early vs. late air horn assys:

"Some 2655S carburetors used 6-1299 air horn. [a 6-1271 air horn is called out as standard]. These did not have a stamped number near the casting number."
