    differential yokes

I bought a C3 differential that has been rebuilt with a 4:11 gear the side yokes are parallel to each other On my other 2 vettes (auto cars) they are almost 90 degrees apart form whatI read in the manual they are supposed to be about 90 degrees am i correct or did the rebuilder make a mistake by setting them up equal

    Re: differential yokes

It matters not, as the Posi slips when rounding a corner, thus any initial alignment of the yokes is disrupted as soon as you turn a corner. In my Barn, they wouldn't make it out of the parking slot without moving in relation to each other.

'65 AIM shows 90 deg in drawings, BUT ....

.... that's for the BASE set-up (non-posi). I see no note in the '65 AIM (C3 AIM's may differ) specifying 90 degrees set-up -- anyway, the differential arrived at St.Louis as an assembly; they set the 90 degrees on the non-posi units at the Warren Gear plant.

And again the factory setting was for assembly convenience, it has no meaning by the time the car has left the assembly line.

This is a well-known illustration and text error in both the A.I.M.'s and in the Chassis Service Manual; makes no sense whatsoever, and is not applicable to anything.
