    '90 ZR-1 Parts Needed!

I'm having my 1990 ZR-1 judged at Cincinnati in mid-September and I need a few items to get those last few points. Anyone who has any of these items for sale would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bob Baird

    Shopping List:

Foor mats (red for my car) with part numbers on them, 10132921 (left) and 10132922 (right).

PF-970 oil filter. Just 970, not 970C. Filter is black. Label has black border and letters with silver background. Has AC logo in upper left with tiny letters AC Spark Plug beneath. To right of that is PF-970. Lower 2/3 says 25011441, OIL FILTER, OIL GASKET. TIGHTEN 1 1/4 TURNS AFTER GASKET CONTACT. CHECK FOR LEAKS. Then has small MADE IN U.S.A. beneath. No barcode or anything else on label.

Plenum access cover (the one with the five set screws). Paint on mine is bubbled up.

I have the wrench with Corvette on it to remove the top, but would like a spare.

    Bob,
With all due respect, this is a techinical discussion board--the Driveline is for parts wanted, for sale, etc.

I apologize to all if I have violated a policy as I have only been to the discussion board a few times, and wasn't aware. If I had known of the policy, I would not have posted. However, I'm wondering if there might be a need for an online Driveline? I'm kind of crunched for time with only two weeks or so to go, so I would have simply been out of luck with the lead time for a Driveline ad and the Driveline being issued only six times a year. I can well understand how these type of things would inundate a discussion board, but I wonder if an online Driveline, even for pay, would be of interest to anyone? Just a thought. -- Bob

        Bob,

It has been decided by "the powers that be" that snail mail is more than sufficient for the Driveline, and that if you want parts in an expedient manner you'll have to check with eBay. The issue was debated a few years back, and killed.

I don't who or why this was killed! I have spoken to many members from our chapter and all across the country and nobody knows why. I get my drive line a week after the north east. We need an online parts for sale and wanted place that NCRS members can go to. Ebay is crazy and sometimes you have to wait 7 days for a auction to go down. NCRS needs to change there policy on this subject. Thad

Remember this is still largely a "volunteer" organization. If some who feel strongly about his issue were to put together a proposal for the board to consider that did not require investment or paid staff to support it there might be light at the end of the tunnel. Otherwise, parts is eBay and Tech is us.

Proposals have been made before to the board, and rejected! I predict that NCRS will provide the Driveline online about the time that telepathy technology makes online listings obsolete.
