Re: Source for Firestone bias ply 7.75x15
-------Coker has the new Firestone Super Sports, but I bet you wont like them. We had a good look at them at Carlisle, and any statements about these tires being either correct or better than the Goodyears would be false. I was very disappointed. Other than the sidewalls being a bit more like the originals these repops are just more of the same ol, same ol!!!!! Whoever rights the descriptions for Cokers adds for these tires is really misrepresenting them............Bill S- Top

Re: Source for Firestone bias ply 7.75x15
I would never buy another tire of any kind from Coker. My 63 had a Coker tire that was cast so poorly the material in the sidewall was separating. I also have heard they require unusual amount of weights to balnce them.
Anybody have any experience with Kelsey ??
I love Diamondback for repro radials, but I need belts for judging.- Top

Re: Source for Firestone bias ply 7.75x15
For judging purposes, from what I know, you will have to use the Kelsey Goodyears to get the minimum deductions. Original tires were non DOT. Kelsey and all others today, by law, are required to mold the DOT logo and info in the side wall. There have been some car owners that have very skillfully removed the non necessary info from the side walls. It can be done but care must be taken not to damage the sidewall and make the tire unsafeDick Whittington- Top

tires
I had the local tire shop order Cokers for me and put them on.
I had been wondering if the local tire shop had ordered seconds and charged me for the better ones. Sounds like I got what I paid for. I wouldn't order another set from Coker.

Re: Source for Firestone bias ply 7.75x15
I have a set of Kelsey Goodyears and there are quite a few ounces of weights on them. I haven't driven on them yet so I don't know how smooth they'll be...
Don't have anything to compare except new radial Michelins on my cars and truck which are nearly weight free....- Top

Re: Source for Firestone bias ply 7.75x15
Thanks for the tip Bill. That really is a disappointment. After reading the ad's that raved about it's accuracy, I really thought the new Coker/Firestone was going to be "life like" but, unfortunately, I guess that's not the case.
