C-3 tire height & size

Hello anybody out there?
I've got 245/60/15 goodyear eagle GT's with the outlined white letter tire on my 75', but I find there is too much wheel well on the rear,so I want to go back to the stock size which was GR70/15. Does anyone know what the height of the stock GR70/15 tire is? and what tire I can replace it with? And at the same time have a tire with about the same height as stock.I still have the original firestone 500 radial spare. It's too bad the firestone 500's had manufacturing problems back in the 70's but even though they were garbage, it would be nice if you could get reproductions.

Have you tried Coker Tire for reproductions of the Firestone 500 tires?
They have a web site that might be worth checking.

For the size of the GR70-15 just measure your spare Firestone 500. Todays replacement is a 225-70R15. Coker told me they will not make any radials in this size because the process to make radials is lots more costly and the demand is too low. Lyle

P225/70R-15 size tires are slightly, slightly larger than the "original" GR-70/15 tires. A wider "optional" tire that was used '78-'82 was the P255/60R-15 size tires.
