    Carlisle Trim Tag Question

During my casual walk through, and general perusal of the cars offered at Carlisle, I came across a 1965 convertible. It was a St.Louis bodied car with black leather interior. A look at the trim tag revealed the following trim code:

    402 AA

I was under the impression, that the first character of the ECL suffix for a convertible must be a "B". The second character should correspond to the options combinations that exist on the car. Is this a unique situation?

402AA for convertibles AND coupes is the ...

.... exception to what you would otherwise expect. And this applies to black leather for both body styles from 1965 thru 1967 model years.
