C3 build date

I have a 73 (L48) coupe and would like to fiqure out the build date ,
The trim tag number is C28 which translates into Oct. 28,1972
The "blue vehicle certification label" number is 02/73. I have a few questions, Did the body sit for 4 months before it was actually mated to the frame.?
I understand that it is normal for a day or even a few days but is there something not right with these dates.? And is there a way to find out the exact day this car was built.?
The dash VIN , and the blue label on the door have matching numbers..
The production number is 16,295..

Your 73 was built Feb. 28th which is correct fot vin 16295. Their is very little difference between a C and a G only the circle comes up a little higher. I am sure your 73 is a G on the trim tag by the other information you provided. Lyle

I would bet the trim tag is G28. That would make it February 28. It is exceedingly difficult to tell the difference between a C and a G on the trim tag.

Thank you both for the helpful information, indeed in checking again it is a G. It is extremely difficult to tell the difference between the C and the G. Thanks again!
