    67 Parking Brake Button

The button on my parking brake just popped off. I have an early car and the button is black. How do I re-install it. Just pushing it back into place does not work.

I used epoxy and clamped it in place to secure mine during re-assembly after rechroming my handle. The metal rod was probably molded in place originally so just pushing it back in will not work as the plastic has worn away.

      Hi Scott,
How did you remove the black plastic part of the handle prior to having it rechroming the metal part
      Thanks,

After you work the actuator rod from the black button and remove that, the black plastic body basically just slides off the chrome handle with a little work.

Fixed the parking brake button. Used epoxy glue fit for plastic and metal.

            Ralph,

I put mine back on with PC7 epoxy paste (True Value carries it) Great stuff. Lightly sand the rod for good adhesion, it won't come off again.

Thanks Rob, if the stuff I used doesn't hold I try the PC7.
