Just recieved the rebuilt #'s matching 427 for my '66 coupe. As Murphy would have it, I won't be able to drop it in for about a year or so. I see storage bags in Jeg's and Summit to go with the stand. Any other suggesions on internal and external oils coatings etc. ? It's in good, dry somewhat heated storage.

Re: C-2 engine storage
You won't find a 'use before' tag on a fresh crate motor from Chevy, so don't worry about the disuse of storage. Whoever rebuilt the engine for you should have liberally used installation lubricants on the critical surfaces that will stick and protect.
DO consider plugging the key inlet/outlet passages (bagging the engine accomplishes the task!). One of your chapter members built his 327 up WELL before he got around to finishing the chassis (six years) and found it mysteriously siezed when he turned it by hand before installing on his chassis... Delving deeper, he found mice had crawled in and built nests in the intake and cylinders despite his having stored the engine in his heated garage!!!!!- Top
