Re: My annual Carlisle Blog
Doc: Thanks as always for the cool coverage. As a working stiff who is nearing retirement, I look forward with great anticipation to my first trek to Corvette Mekka. In the meantime your blogs are the next best thing.
Now, if someone would just create a "Carlisle Tips for Beginners" so that my first trip won't be diminished by learning all the typical newbie lessons the hard way...
Hey that "display" on the harvest gold racer looks like a panoramic "Wink" mirror to me. I remember those from the '60's. Not on any race cars though.
Obviously the owner didn't share Satchel Paige's philosophy of: "Never look back - somebody might be gaining on you!"- Top

"Farm Use II" ?
Doc, do ya think that the "Skunk Works" display might have been the beginning of ole Doc "Zit" McCagh's "Farm Use II"? He is a tryin' to git the "Farm Use I" to turn laps as fast as the Porches at Cumberland. He can't git closer than one second.Dick Whittington- Top

You might want to check out my article entitled "Swap Meet Survival" in the February '05 issue of "Corvette Enthusiast" magazine (back issues at 800-448-3611); it's focused on big meets like Bloomington and Carlisle.- Top
