Clock - Correct Speed Adjustment Face?

On '58 - '62 electro-mechanical clocks, which way should the speed adjustment dial read? Looking from left to right I believe that it should be F-S as is on my '61. But a friend has three old clocks from late 50's era Chevys that look exactly the same but the speed adjustment goes from S-F. Which is correct for the Corvette, and can anyone explain why they are different?

You are correct, the "f" is on the left side or the 9 o"clock side. Your friend has clocks from 55-56 Chevrolets.

      Mike,
Your configuration is correct. The early 50s passenger car clocks were slow-fast configuration and were made by New Haven. The later clocks with the fast-slow configuration was made by Westclocks.
