Re: 1111093 Distributor Identification

The GM #1111093 distributor is, of course, a magnetic pulse type distributor. So, right off the bat, any distributor that you look at would have to be this type or it's instantly disqualified. However, the only positive way to identify any Corvette tach drive-type distributor is the metal band which fastens around shaft housing, just below the base. Unfortunately, these bands can be easily removed or changed, so that makes identification a real crap shoot under any circumstances.
For the most part, Corvette tach drive distributors vary in configuration only with respect to the "auto cam"(mounted atop the mainshaft), advance springs, advance weights, and distributor vacuum control. The "093 distributor is equipped with the following:
main shaft(w/auto cam)---- GM #1965902
centrifugal advance weights(2)----GM #1881371
centrifugal advance springs(2)----- GM #1965903
vacuum control----- GM #1116163
Install the above parts in any GM magnetic pulse, tach drive distributor and you have a 1111093. Of course some of the above parts might be difficult to obtain. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
