Early 63, C2, Seat belt anchors

I'm hoping someone can help me solve this riddle. I have a very early 63 roadster --- a first day production car. The outboard seat belt anchors are in the floor, with backer plates, immediately behind the backer plates for the rear seat brackets. Anchor bolts extend vertically through the floor --- not horizonally into the birdcage as shown in the AIM. I've examined numerous 63's at Carlisle and various local and chapter meets and have not observed any similar mounting anchors, but neither have I observed any cars that are as early production as mine. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I have heard of seatbelts being added on at the dealers...this just could be a dealer add on.

Why not just start off with your VIN? *NM*

1963 being the year of the first Stingray, first coupe, first year with independent rear suspension, and first year of air conditioning you will find that these cars had many engineering changes along the way. Many things shown in the current AIM may differ from your first day production 1963 Corvette. It does not mean your Corvette is wrong. It may have left the factory that way, which is correct.
