Attention Joe Lucia: Joe, what would be the best current replacements available for my originals, which are badly pitted? If Spicer is the manufacturer, what part number do you have available and would they pass NCRS muster? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the u-joint flanges or the spindle flanges. The u-joint flanges are attached to the half-shaft via the u-joint. Your originals were GM #3843018. These were discontinued about 30 years ago and replaced by GM #360913. The 3843018 were of GM internal manufacture; the 360913 are manufactured by Spicer and most, if not all, are so-marked.
The configuration of these flanges is slightly different. However, I'm not sure if judges could discern the difference in the flight judging process. So, I would not be able to tell you if the current replacements (which were also used in PRODUCTION for 1975-79 Corvettes) would suffer a judging penalty.
The current GM list price of the flange is $126.42/each. You may be able to obtain this exact same flange for a LOT less through driveline shops carrying the Spicer parts line.
You're wise to replace these flanges if the ones you have are badly pitted. This condition indicates that the flanges have suffered significant corrosion damage. Such damage means they have been weakened. You don't want these flanges weakened. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
