Re: Warped Intake?
Guess, I should add this occurance as it may be related....After receiving the car back from the auto body shop which partially restored and repainted my 66 the car over heated and ended up being the shop crisscrossed the heater hoses which lead to a couple +250 degree overheats and overflow situations before I noticed the error. Soon afterwards as I drove the car and it heated up I experienced a high pitch whistle similar to a vacumm leak type sound which I assumed was coming from under the carb somewhere possibly the adapter plate under the gasket under the carb. I replaced the gasket under the carb but that wasn't the problem as it continued, I then decided to change the gasket under the adapter plate but some type of liquid gasket was used and I never got it fully off so left it there for the time being. Figured I would add these events as they may have lead to the oil on the spark plugs and degrading performance I am experiencing.- Top
