TIM Judging guide interpretation -Silver 66

Experts: I purchased a one owner all org low mile 66 L-36 last year with factory 426 Silver pearl on 418 silver vinyl. My car has black dash pads, console, and speaker grille. On page 12 of my TIM JG it say 426 silver vinyl has SILVER dash color??

I thought maybe there was an error or some were actually silver (dash), then I found ebay # 4573108049 with a silver dash, albeit a full restoration, not a unrestored car liked mine. Did some 426 vinyl or 427 leather interiors come with silver dash or console are

    Keith,

-----I dont read the judging manual much but I can tell you catagoricly that no 66 Corvette with silver interior or any other color interior for that matter came with a silver dash. Some restorers have done cars like this to owners tastes, and some have (unbelieveably) done it by mistake, but the factory never did it, period!!!!
-----I saw the car on E-bay that you are referring to and its a shame (although not difficult to reverse) as the car looked like a nice car. Dont start looking for silver original dash-pads as you will have a long long search...........Bill S

Bill; Have no fear I will not be changing my org black dash pads. I have a pic of the org owner picking up his car on April 21, 1966 from the Chev dealer and they were black dash pads..........just wonder why the TIM judging guide says it should have silver dash pads.......??
