Re: big tank 67 L-88
Clem,
--------Owner is a nice guy from outside Pittsburgh. He calls me periodically because I inbetweened the sale of that car (RED, right?) a long time ago, maybe 5/6 owners. Back then the car was a small to big block (crate LS6)conversion. Came out of the southern Florida salvage pool and had no tank at that time. Never entertained looking under the carpet when I inbetweened it as there wasnt a thought of it being a big-tank car. I cant tell you how many times I wish I had as the controversy surrounding this car would be non-existent now. Kid I sold it to in app.1988 totaled it again shortly after I sold it to him. The car apparently was bought up by some sort of Vette shop guy in Conn. and then somehow the car got a tank set-up back in it at that point. Then the car went (still wrecked) to Pro-Team. A very good customer of P/T bought it but told me he wouldnt invest the money needed to make the car right at that point until he had some docs. P/T took the car back and then sold it (still wrecked) to the Pittsburgh guy. He has spent a bunch of time and money to get the car back where it is today. He also claims to have done a huge amount of follow up on the history on the car and I have no reason to doubt him. Everything he tells me makes sense but he lacks a good paper-trail to make the whole thing come together. To add to the confusion he apparently painted it the wrong color as he told me once that he felt the car was originally white. Thats one of the things I dont understand. You now know pretty much as much as I know....
-------I have not seen the car done. What did you and others think of it. particularly the stamping pad???- Top

Re: speed10 just paid $811 for an N03 sender
ebayer Speed10 is located in Glendale AZ, appears to be a buyer and seller of C2 parts, may or may not own a tanker - nevertheless not likely the owner of the L88 + N03 in the Pittsburgh area in this NCRS thread, nor the owner of the red + black stinger L88 + N03 in the corvetteforum thread, also apparently in PA65 MM Convertible, L76 (365 hp)- Top

Re: speed10 just paid $811 for an N03 sender
Jack,
--------I would give an educated guess that Speed10 is Bob Auxier. Hes the one doing the NO3 reproductions that seem to be on E-bay year around, so it would make sense that he would buy an NO3 sending unit for one of his repro set-ups. What do you think????..........Bill S- Top

I don't know if one and the same, but a Cheetah owner Rob Auxier, who also shows up as a racer (father and son) live out in Glendale AZ.
Totally odd cooincidence - I was just posting on Corvetteforum about how a real POS 65 "roller" in primer with no engine, no tranny, no documetation but supposedly once a BB and a tanker and maybe a race car, went up to $29K on ebay and still didn't hit reserve, and I noticed that one of the bidders was Speed10.
Must be the tanker connection?65 MM Convertible, L76 (365 hp)- Top
