And it didn't take dealers long to learn to auction off the Corvettes rather than try to deal with the 100's of problems that could crop up with them, especially those ridden hard and put up wet.

That made trails even harder to follow.

Car has manual transmission, so I assume it's a M22. Earlier vin, I'm guessing the trim tag build date code to be D16, so again assume it is a closed chambered design. Will view car on Saturday I hope.

Your second paragraph got me laughing.

Actually, my other car is a "rare" "survivor" (actually Bowtie) base engine, 4 speed car. I don't do automatics.
