I was just notified that the 2006 National Convention is to be moved to San Antonio, Texas. You can see a link to Details at the top of this page. The date changed as well, so take special note. You may need to rearrange your schedule for next year.

Re: 2006 National Convention MOVED
FYI - the Texas Chapter is currently working on the plans for 2006 San Antonio Convention. Details for the schedule of events, attractions, hotel, registration forms, etc. should be completed by November 1st and will be available in the Driveline. Thank you for your patience. Gary....- Top

Will the event be inside a convention center?
"The host facility and site for the judging field display will be the Marriott Riverwalk and San Antonio Convention Center (only 1 block away!). It's 96,000 + square feet will hold 180 + Corvettes and will be an excellent location for our 32nd annual convention"
This would be great if it is... The south Texas August sun in will wilt my otherwise perky disposition if not...

Re: 2006 National Convention MOVED
This was done without the consent or discussion of many of the local members who were doing all the leg work and are striving to get this economy up and running. The cancelation of this event shows the lack of support of this city.
This is my opinion and a businessman in the area.

Re: 2006 National Convention MOVED
Is it possible 2006 and 2008 were swapped? 2008 was scheduled to be in San Antonio. With the present problems in New Orleans could it be better to let the LA Chapter deal with their rebuilding problems and do a National Meet in a couple of years?
I'm sure the National Board discussed these issues with a lot of people before they made this decision.
