    Just purchased a service manual that shows the vehicle serial number tag located on engine side of steering column rather than door post. How is it fastened and is there a correct measurement?

      1958 Corvette...

      VIN tag is fastened to the hinge pillar w/2 phillips screws.

          During the 1960 model year the location changed from the door post area to the steering column.
