    C -3 seatbelt question

    Regarding 1968 seatbelt labels:
On the seatbelt, do both the male ends and the female (buckle) ends have the white sewn on labels or are they just on the female ends?
I seem to have misplaced both of the male (clip) ends of my seatbelts but have the buckle ends with the labels and am wondering if I can just go to a junkyard and get any old black GM 60s era seatbelt male sections or if they will have labels which obviously won't match my existing belts. Don't know how I lost these belts; getting senile I guess.
    Thanks,
    Kurt # 26406

    Re: C -3 seatbelt question

I have never found any other cars to have the same seat belt assembly as a corvette. I have found the components seperately on passenger cars though. One exception being the part that attaches to the floor. I have found the buckles, D-rings, and webbing though, and anchor bolts. The anchore plates on 68 are flat and made of stainless and the passenger cars have a zig-zag in them for that year. Keep looking and maybe you will find them. If not, check paragon or the other catalog people. Terry

I know SnakeOyl has them and they only wanted $700.00 for the set. Such a deal.

Check paragon, I think they have them. Call Mike at america's finest corvette and he will probably have a set. I sold him a ton of hardware in the past. I see them from time to time on ebay. $700.00 is not that bad for a year that is so unique. We all have stories to tell about paying for parts, especially myself. I love original stuff. I purchase a complete set of dark blue seat belts for a 68 15 years ago. They are so soft and perfect. I paid dearly for them but I have never come across another set like them either. Enjoy, Terry

Kurt my 68's male belts have the labels intact. Says GM at the top of the label, HAMILL 1968, Model number C11, and at the bottom 50 E 67.
