been away for a week doin the 60th Glidden Revival AACA tour and need some posts to stay on board. we(the wife and another NCRS member couple) took a 51k mile original paint/interior/drivetrain 29 chevy Convertible Landau on the gruling 400 + mile tour thru the super hilly Allegany mountains of central penna. About 350 mostly restored(majority amature) multi-make 1900 thru 1935 vehicles participated. over 130 fords, about 15 chevys, 8 dodges and the numbers diminished considerably per marque therafter.about half a dozen un-restored vehicles participated. none of the unrestored were as ratty looking as our 29 but "the guys who know" came up and thanked us for bringing the only unrestored 29 chev convert. landau know to exist(GM stopped production of these beasts in '29 after a three month production run that saw a scant 200 of the critters being built). the old girl, with its 194 ci 6 banger, passed MANY a model A that puked antifreeze on their attempts to traverse the steep hills. Had a pair of NCRS magnetic decals afixed to the conv landau's doors in an attempt to enhance the augusta midget's PR endeavors.had a ball. mike
