    Voltage regulator follow up

I have searched all the area suppliers and then some and have yet to find that voltage regulator with the transistor connected on the back? Any idea who has the exact item I'm looking for that belongs on a 66 sb?

    Gary,
As far as I know, the capacitor you are refering to is not part of the voltage regulator aseembly. Rather it might be part of the radio options or it could be part of the standard electrical harness. You will have to check both sections of your AIM to be sure, I don't have mine here at the office.

I found it listed on the same page as the voltage regulator at zip-products.com they seem to be the only ones who show the correct voltage regulator also.

        Gary -

I'd doubt if the voltage regulator they list for $42.00 is a "correct" 515 regulator - probably a Delco service replacement.

They show up on EBay all the time. the capacitor is technically a separate piece, but it boltd on along with the volt. reg. on radio equipped cars.

FWIW, I pulled a half dozen 515 voltage regulators out of a salvage yard. They were on lots of period cars. I wound up giving several of them to the fellow who bought my 66. The salvage yard didn't charge but a couple of bucks a piece for them.
