Self etching green primer for birdcage

Hello all, who carries the self etching primer with best color fidelity to original on mid years. I have seen the SEM product but dont consider that color to be close. Any help appreciated.

Quanta lists a zinc chromate primer in their web catalog. Have not used any lately, but their's used to be very close in color.

There are lots of posts in the archives on this, basically there was a light green and dark green primer used. Quanta only carries fake or synthetic primer now because of the toxic issues. You can find the Zinc Chromate primer at areospace supply houses and Marine Supplies. I found the Tempo brand to be very close to the color I needed, at most Marine stores.

When I did some restoration work on my 70's windshield framing I used a product recommended by a Corvette body and paint professional. Dupont 215S Acrylic Primer. It says on the can "A highly corrosion-resistant acrylic laquer type primer for use under standard refinishing systems, expecially in critical areas, to prevent rusting." I also used it after I preped my headlights with a metal conditioner on bare aluminum. It is a green color but not the same color of green the factory used.

The Tempo green "chromate" primer is VERY close and primes well. My local auto paint supplier had it in stock. Graingers also has a green bare metal primer that's a good match.
