    C3 HELP

    I will be looking to buy a 71 or 72 Corvette in the Spring. I was hoping to buy a BB. Wanted to know what to look at and what to avoid. Any imput would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe

    Drive it first at least 25 miles and make sure you can endure the heat from the floor area.

    All things considered, I wish I had bought a small block. 350/350 is a great combination.

        Joe,I would say buying a Corvette of any vintage is the same across the board,buy the best you can afford and do your homework.If a project is what you want,again buy the best.I have recently turned my attention to these same cars and am in love with my low compression big block LS6! I could tell you about it but I don't have that much time,it is great. I have always been a big block man so maybe I'm just missing out but I say good choice!

            We have a 71, 454 hp. Typically, big blocks are known for overheating, especially in stop and go traffic. One of the things we did is remove the radiator and had it checked by a local rad shop...never had any overheating issues. The only problem we see now is the price of gas....I think we get @10 miles per gallon. Love the big block though, would own nothing else.
