No amps

63, SB, New alternator is charging, reads 14.5 volts on the analyzer, but when I switch to amps the reading is zero. Does this make sense?

Also, dwell is 28; is this close? I couldn't find the spec in the maintanence manual.

14.5 volts is a good voltage level for an alternator and the system is charging. The output current is dependent on how fully charged the battery is combined with what is being drawn by the electrical system. ie lights heater AC ect. There may be a problem with your analyzer or it's connected incorrectly.

Dwell should be set at 28 to 32.

Yea. I dont think you are using the Amp meter correctly.

If I knew how to include a red-faced character at the end of this sentence, I would. Amp reading requires an extra hook-up, which I had not made. Thanks.
