Here is a pic of my frame. I have power steering but, is that big ugly notch supposed to be there? It is apparent that whoever built the frame did not cut the notch. Did the notch get cut on the line if the car was to have ps? Or did someone goes crazy with a cutting torch in their backyard for some unknown reason back in the 70s? Thanks Bill#44207

Re: C2 Power steering notch?
Bill,
Someone did cut a notch out of the frame for some reason. Can't tell from where the picture ends, but hopefully they stopped the cutting short of where the bolt is inserted in the frame for the lower bumper support.- Top

Re: C2 Power steering notch?
This looks like a case of wrong PS mount and/or wrong/bad motor mounts and so the pulley was right on the frame. So they gave more clearance to the frame.
If you had gusseting on the front suspension ears, I'd suggest they ran a dry sump pump for road racing and had cut the frame for clearance.
That too would have been unnecessary if they used the right brackets.
Then again, there may be something other than PS, like stuffing the alternator under an FI air cleaner because of an AC compressor on the other side, or a big aftermarket AC compressor or who knows what.- Top
