C1 disc brake conversion

this question is focused towards those fine corvette enthusiasts that has gone to disc brakes on their C1. Been working feverishly to complete restoration of a car I've never driven. Just completed rebuilding the front suspension and looking at converting to disc since this is going to be a driver.
I do have some questions:
1. Were you well satisfied once the conversion was complete? Was there a huge difference in the braking confidence.
2. Who did you purchase from?
3. Did you do just the front or rear also?
4. Any advice you would pass along or surprises I should be aware of?

Have you considered

leaving the brakes stock and adding a concealed remote power booster? I would be "vintage correct", make braking a breeze, and properly located only an expert would find it. One well known contributor to this forum has one on his C1.

I left out an important point...

Changing to front disc will reduce fade, if you autocross the car, drive really REALLY hard, or live in Scranton Pennsylvania (ref: "30,000 Pounds of Banannas") you will discover to your dismay that manual disc brakes are actually "harder" than the drums you have now. If you want "easy" braking, discs ain't gonna do it, you must have power boost. The piece I showed was factory in the 55-57 T'bird, and a common dealer-installed item of the day. That fella I mention tows a small trailer with his C1, and it seems to stop pretty well with power boosted drum/drum brakes, by his account, and he's no fool.

With that in mind and once it is road worthy, i intend to drive it with the stock drum brakes. If I have a need for better braking, I'll strongly consider your solution.

I'm the one that has it in my 55 Corvette and when judged they never even seen it. I made a bracket as you see , and located it up in the L/S splash cover area near the dimmer switch. It works great for about $350.00 and not 2K changing the front stock area staying and looking original. It stops and feels better then a 55 to 57 Chevy with P/B.

Roy, on another topic...

You once said the 55-57 PG lacked an air vent, and that dealers were putting them on the tailshaft housing, but that the main case was a better place. Where? Obviously, some places get a lot of fluid spray which would be "bad"?
