68 corvette sill plates?

I once heard that 68 sill plates were different from later production c3 sill plates. Anyone have a comment on this? I heard the lip that wrapped around the door sill was longer or something along that line. May have only been the early cars. Thanks, Terry

My sill plates have a larger wrap around lip on the side that faces inboard and I assume it is to accomodate the thickness of the carpet.
