The inspection of my New Lectric Limited wiring Harness turned up a problem. This is on my 65 corvette covertible no back-up lights. On the rear wiring harness, for the courtesy light. There are only the 2 wires with male pins crimped on. There is no socket for the light bulb. Has anyone else had this problem?? I will be calling Lectric Limited tomorrow, unless someone can tell me how to remove my old harness wires from the socket and attach the socket and wires to my new harness. Thanks Dick Gutman

Re: New wiring harness???
Dick, those two pins are all the wiring print calls for. I don't know how, but the old wires should pull out of the lamp socket allowing the new one to plug in.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: New wiring harness???
Hi Dick
I purchased one from them for my 62. I had everything I needed. You might want to see about replacing the light sockets with new ones since all your wiring is new. Just a thought, if you can't get yours apart easy.
Good luck....John- Top

Re: New wiring harness???
65 corvette rear courtesy lamp; This lamp socket, looks similar to the tailight sockets, except for the metal part of the fixture. It snaps into a bracket under the rear center of the decklid bulkhead. This metal part may be the problem. Maybe Lectric Limited cannot find a source for this socket. It would be nice to hear from someone who has a new rear lamp harness for a 65 corvette convertible. Thanks- Top

Re: New wiring harness???
Hi Dick
I did forget to mention that when I got my harness, I did have to use the light socket for the rear license plate light from my original harness. I guess some sockets are not available. They included the little piece to get soldered on the end of the wire.

Re: New wiring harness???
Tom I called Lectric Limited about this ?? They told since this was not part of the OEM wiring harness it is not included. Fair enough. Lectric Limited told me to do what you stated. I wiggled and gently pulled out the old stabs and reinstalled the new stabs into the socket. They are a bit loose/sloppy though. Thanks! Dick Gutman- Top
