I'd like to thank the Northern California Chapter and all the wonderful people I met on my first chapter meet. What a beautiful setting in Elk Grove, California:
I enjoyed every minute of the eight hours of judging. I signed up for Flight Judging just to find out what my status would be and not expecting even to show.
Well, what do you know, my 67 achieved 2nd Flight on the first time to bat.
I'm so proud, and I know you guys have seen these type pictures before, but I've just got to post it:
I was so estatic on the way home to Sonora, I counted post mile markers to calibrate my speedometer. I found that my speedometer was running 3% light with the Coker redline radials. The restored Holley 3810 performed excellent, and the temp didn't get over 185 the whole trip with the add-on AC blasting all the way.
And the kick was today. I filled her up and found that I had used 12.1 gallons of gas for 194 miles round trip; that's a little over 16 mpg. Not too shabby for a 59,000 mile engine, never been rebuilt.
And thanks to all on the forum who gave my very good advice. Clem, have a Rollin Rock on me.
Having fun!
