C-2 Big Block Water Pump Question

I recently had my engine's water pump rebuilt. When I installed the pump I noticed that the mounting hub now protruded an additional .15 inches throwing the pulleys out of alignment by the same measurement. I assume I will need to press the shaft further into the flange in order to properly align the pulleys. Is this correct? How is this accomplished? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hector-----

The proper dimension from the waterpump-to-block mounting surface to the face of the hub for 1965-70 Corvette big block waterpumps is 5-3/4".

If you need to press the hub on further, then you'll need to remove the backing plate from the pump, support the rear of the shaft with a suitable tool, and use an arbor or hydraulic press to further press the hub on the shaft.

You could do it without removing the backing plate and supporting the rear of the shaft, but you risk damaging the bearing if you do it that way.
