A while back, I recall reading about parts being identified and available to rebuild the C4 LT1 distributor on this board. Can someone point me in the direction of that thread? TIA, John.

Some of the parts (like cap and rotor) are available through NAPA/Echlin. However, I wouldn't "dink around" with trying to rebuild one of these-----they're too much work to install to do that. Generally, the problem involves shutter wheel corrosion or optical sensor clouding. I don't think that parts for either of these maladies are available.
If it were me, I'd go with one of the improved Opti-Spark units available from Dynotech Engineering. They have them available for both 92-94 style OptiSpark as well as 95-96 OptiSpark. All of their units feature much better sealing and vacuum extraction (only 95-96 originally had this). Plus, there are other improvements. The only way to go. They're expensive at about $600/each, but a new GM unit is not that much less expensive, especially for the 92-94 style.In Appreciation of John Hinckley -
