early 61 trans

Early bw trans with a t10-1b cast iron case and t10-7b die cast aluminum tail housing. Input has 3 rings. What is the gear ratio of this trans.

If you have your trans out shift into first gear.Mark a spot on the output shaft side.
Turn the input shaft gear till the output shaft turns once. If it takes 2 1/5 turns for one turn of the output shaft its a close ratio trans. A wide ratio trans will take 2 1/2 turns to one yurn on the output shaft.

If it's an original '61 Corvette transmission, it'll be the close-ratio version; the wide-ratio version wasn't introduced until 1962.

What distinctive markings is there on a vette trans vs. a chevy passenger trans?
