Can someone recollect Al Grenning's article on low horsepower engine shortages and the use of 657 blocks...there was a thread regarding 0626 assemblies... were there others ones found during the investigation into this annomaly?

Re: C2 - 1967 restamped passenger car engines
Dino,
I recently read Al's article as my engine assembly date is 0626. My vin is 22049 but I have a S/B block date of June 22, 1967. So I don't think mine is one of those restamped passenger car S/B engines. Al's article found 3 cars with the switched blocks, all after my vin and within the last 800 67's.

AL,
Thanks for posting on the "Technical Discussion Board". You are one of the most knowledgeable NCRS members and we are all very appreciative of your willingness to share information with others. There are many important and interesting facts not covered in the NCRS guides/manuals and you have always gone out of your way to enlighten the newcomers to the Corvette hobby. Thanks again for posting.- Top

I second the thanks to Al Grenning
Like Rick Snow, I would like to thank Al Grenning for being willing to look at the NCRS DB postings and particularly for being willing to post messages on the Board. If you look at the 30 or 40 names of team leaders and others in the Restorer magazine I think you'll agree that the vast majority of those individuals never post on the Board. This is very unfortuante, since it's fair to assume that those individuals possess an amazing amount of information that would benefit us all.
Do the 30 or 40 people listed in the Restorer not read the Board? Do they not have an internet connection? Or do they read the Board and think they don't have anything to add? Or are they afraid to post for some reason?
