Speaking of retired race cars does....

anyone know what a C4 race car is valued at today ? I'm talking about the all Corvette Series cars than ran in the mid 80's. I remember one of the local dealers campaigned two of them and he had them for sale on his lot shortly after the series had ended. They where complete as is and if memory serves me they where asking $25,000 a copy.

if you want to buy a engine. warren frieze said i am not their biggest customer but i am their oldest. they were doing heads for me(performance engineering) before they went outside GM for work. bill howell set me up with them and they did my stuff way before they went public. great guys to deal with and when GM set me up with the 4 cyl cavalier program kateck send me all the stuff i needed to race those engines on paved short tracks. we had great success with my son driving and he got rookie driver of the year running those engines. mrs clem used to tell me "another care package from katech arrived today"

John...(and others) what would you hazard the cost (or range) of purchasing these race cars...There are so many collectors out there that are focused on race breed Corvettes... do you sense these cars will sell for 20,000 or 200,000? Does... not having a driveline cause concern?

i believe that chip miller paid $500,000 for the #3 BUT that was the one driven by dale and dale jr. at daytona. i think it has the full running gear

the one C5-R that was bought and was being raced

by a private race team has be garaged and the team now will race a daytona protoype with a pontiac engine. i guess the new C6-R is a much better race car and the older C5-R is not competitive
