    Plastic media vs sand

Hello all, A friend of mine used a plastic mnedia blaster (portable) to remove light gunk on undersid e of 65 roadster, results were astonishing. Another knowledgeable friend tells me that a plastic media blaster is substantially different than a media blaster that uses sand etc. Do you all know this to be true? lots of web search results on portable sand blasters, hardly any on plastic media blasters. you help would be appreciated.

TIP tools sells plastic media and I have used it in a regular setup for both cabinet and pressure with no changes of the tips. The size of the media must match the tip. Walnut shucks media also work for some things. You need to use the lowest pressure you can to get the results you want. Lyle

Do you have a web site for TIP? I've searched and could not locate them.

        try TPtools.com

I just use my cheapie Harbor freight blaster on low pressure with plastic media, works great. Use just enough pressure to move the material.
