1963 metal radiator label....can this be?

I was recently purchased a new DeWitt's replacement radiator (dated J62...early production) for my 1963 Corvette. To my surprise the Harrison radiator information (top of the radiator) was a metal plate instead of the traditional foil label. My techincal & judging manual does not discuss this a "metal plate". It only speaks of a "foil label". Can this metal plate be correct? Thanks in advance.

The metal (vs. foil) version of the label is considered correct for 1960-62E Harrison aluminum radiators.

Thanks for your help Jack. I see where LI Corvette offers a metal label for early '63's. It would appear that a few early '63's may have gotten a metal plate instead of the "considered" correct foil label? Any opinions on that possibility? Thanks.

You are correct. I had an early 63 swc with a 62J radiator and it had the metal tag.

Yes, the metal plate was used on all early 63 Corvettes. Don't know the change but it would be from Harrison and not documented via a change order from Chevrolet.
