If you're not out there exercising your old Vette... sigh
Today there was perfect weather, the hint of foliage, country roads, a stop at the local orchard for fresh apples and pie ala mode, and then a little surprise for us down the road. We took this picture about 2 hrs ago. Get out there!
Took the wife and kids out for ice cream in our "Ice Cream Car" today. 1970 Olds Cutlass convertible I purchased for my wife a few years ago. A beautiful 82 degrees on our drive.
This week the Cutlass goes into winter storage, and the Vette comes out to enjoy the last month of the "season" here in Michigan.
And no, I didn't see any Corvettes at all today. I usually only see about 1/month on the road. Lots of other old cars out today, though.

The Ottawa Corvette Club organized a drive today from Ottawa north into Quebec. About 20 Corvettes....what a day for a drive....top down all the way....leaves starting to change....cool lakes....great driving roads....great friends....all smiles.....thanks to the Ottawa guys and gals for organizing.
Our vettes are locked in garage with window shut. Big fire in so. California!!!! Loads of ash/smoke. We will be riding around in Jan. when your locked in garage. Just kidding. Thanks for sharing your photos. Don
Well, mine was waiting to be sanded and buffed out, or I would have been out today.
I did see a red '58 FI with a trailer hitch and trailer with a Harley on it. Black '79 with paint so deep you need scuba gear. They were at Webster Westside with all the bikers.
Up at Sumter Co. Fairgrounds 3 miles away was a blue mid C4 convertible, an '82 Collector's Edition, a green C4 Greenwood Edition, and a couple of others that I have forgotten. Red '76 in the parking lot as we left.
I drove my '67 to a car show in Cape Coral yesterday. Saw a very nice '67 Sunfire Yellow conv. body-off. Several "drivers". Also, a really ugly '54 with a 327 and Tu-tone paint!! I like driving a coupe, you don't see many down here. Vette weather year-round...but you already know that.
Re: Cont'ed C2's "Where are you", enjoying life
Just got the 67 running again after 19 years. I forgot just how sweet it is. I still see more corba clones than c1s or c2s. It is great to be driving a real car. I have been driving it everywhere for no reason, except for the joy of it.
I haven't seen a wave from another vette in 19 years.

Gentlemen, as a follow-up to my post of last week about not seeing C2's on the road...
FYI, yesterday on my 4 hr. "no-direction-in-mind" (who used those lyrics in a 1965 song?) cruise, I spotted 3 C2's, all on their way to a local fire company car show.
But the highlight of a beautiful Sunday afternoon cruise was running across a small town with a good old fashioned street fair ongoing. You know the type...slow down to maybe 3 mph, loads of people walking to and fro across the street, vendors, hot dogs, baskets, food...well, you get the idea.
I received a ton of "nice car" shout-outs...thumbs up from people of all ages... stares, smiles and simply looks of admiration.
I'm not relating this incident to you because MY car is anything THAT special (OK, OK. It's nice.), but because OUR cars are INDEED special.
I see C-2's all the time in the Detroit area while out cruising and wish we had more warm weather to enjoy those drives. I guess that would be the "best of both worlds" and that would be asking for a lot. Oh well, enjoying temps in the low 80's and driving a 67 convert in early Oct is truly a bonus.
