Re: correct 64 tires ?
The JG states that the correct OE size is 6.70-15, standard blackwall rayon cord with optional whitewall. P91 is the same size nylon cord, blackwall only.
There are several modern replacement sizes that are considered acceptable based on overall dimensions and load capacity, but these are in no way considered as original and will be cause for deduction.
Re-read the JG carefully.

Re: correct 64 tires ?
Darrell,
My take on tire size/type for the '64 as per the TIM & JG is as follows.
Factory installed tire size for '64 was 6.70x15, either in rayon (standard) or nylon (P91) construction. The P91 option (nylon blackwall) included the B.F. Goodrich Lifesaver.
Service replacement tires include the 195/75/R15 and the 205/75/R15.
If you want your car to be as from the factory, 6.70x15 2-ply, 4 ply rating is the tire. If you want an NCRS acceptable radial, the 195/75/R15 Goodrich Lifesaver will do.
Note that the TIM & JG sets out other tire attributes (sidewall design, whitewall vs. blackwall, whitewall width, sidewall marking, etc) that you should take into consideration.
Best regards,
Charlie- Top
