Time is getting tight to find and install a correctly dated Holley 3367 carburetor for my early '66 L79. The Waco Regional is in two weeks and I'm promised a correctly dated carburetor from a vendor in time for this event, but who knows if it will in fact be here as promised. I've decided to bring the car for judging even if the carburetor is not ready. I know that the points allotted for a carburetor are 40 for originality and 20 for condition. My L79 has a Holley 3811 on it now with an incorrect dual feed fuel line. I'm expecting quite a hit for the wrong part number, but can anyone give me any idea what type of deduct I may actually receive? The Holley on the car is in great condition, just the entirely wrong part number. Thanks.

Re: Wrong carb point deduct
i'd guess they'll take 50 to 80% of the originality points allocated. if they take more than 90%(loosing all the condition points as well), i'd argue that 1) it is a holley and 2) both carbs are called out in the Holley Illustrated Parts and Specs book as being listed in the Typical View, Illustration no 24-2 on page 286 . that ought to get their attention. good luck, mike- Top
