[L98] Does Anyone Have A Photo Of The Engine Pad

Does anyone have a photo of the engine pad on an L98. Despite several drawings, I'm having trouble figuring out exactly where mine is on my 52,000 mile 1985...

    John:

The engine case pad is in front of the passenger side cylinder head. On my 86 you can't see the pad unless you remove the A/C compressor. Now, there is an optional location that was used, it is on the drivers side, right above and to the right of the oil filter.

The easiest way to view the engine pad of an '85, '86, or '87 is to remove the mass air flow sensor and the air duct between it and the air cleaner. Once you have done that, you can clean the pad by spraying it with a brake cleaner or using a stick with a soft end containing a grease remover. The stamped information on the pad is like earlier cars. You can read the engine suffix of a clean pad around the A/C pipes on an assembled car.
