    64 seats= 63 seats, w/ new covers?

Can 64 seats be made to look origional in a 63 if new covers and seat buns are used? Are the tracks and adjusters the same? Or should I just look for a set of 63 seats?

    Nope

63 bottoms all by themselves. Chrome handle, springs, mechanism and stand off brackets different. Seal backs differ less: internal padding, seat vents and backs tapering to a point at the top - but you knew that.

It depends on how original you want original to be. Enough that 90% at the Saturday night cruise think they are? Yes.

      Enough to pass judging? No.

Enough to sell to someone as '63? Yes and no. I could sell '68 seats as '63, but then, I could probably sell a Camaro to that person as a Corvette.

Look at these two auctions at the bottoms of the seats.

From what I have seen, you might has a couple hundred difference in price, but you will not pass off '64 seats as '63 to anyone who knows anything.

        Hey Mike -

Look at the pattern on the backs of those '63 seats. Not like any '63 seat I've seen. Whadya' figure these are?

"Could be made into N. C. R. S. Top Flight set very easily". Yeah, by changing both the pads and the covers! The frame looks right however.

I never even noticed that. I was just looking for bottoms to show the frames. If you look a a bottom picture, you can see red. I think they are just covers somoen put over the existing seat. Could be K-Mart specials, something someone whipped up themselves, JC Whitney covers, or who knows.
