    C2 Hood

I need an original hood for my 1967 small block. I am confused, as well as a few I have spoken to, about the construction of the underlying frame during the C2 years. On my current hood which was purportedly original,on the passenger side there is a hoodprop and at the nose on the driver side- by the hinges, there are a series of cutouts/holes in addition to to the three hinges mounting holes (almost seems like access to the hood skin for emblem speednuts (which of course are not on a '67). Does this ring a bell ?

Any reputable sources for a used '67 hood ?

    Thanks

    Mike -

The configuration you describe is correct for a '67 hood; the access holes in the left front corner of the inner panel were added in '66 for the emblem nuts, and the mold wasn't changed to remove them in '67.

Re: C2 Hood- You can Identify a 67

You can identify a 67 original hood by placing your fingers in the speed nut holes. he are tiny nubs where the emblems would have gone. It was part of the mold made in 66. It should feel pretty smooth. If you feel filler it was used on a 66. It is not always easy to keep those patched holes to stay covered and can show through the paint.
