    Pre-loading Hydrolic Lifters

I am in the process of replacing the hydrolic lifters in my 69 (Base 350) vette. Can someone tell me the best way to preload the lifters in order to remove all the air.

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: Pre-loading Hydraulic Lifters

Usually the manufacturer of the cam and the lifters has their preferred method and it is included in their literature that came with the lifters or cam.

I believe most do something like adjust to zero clearance, then go 1/4 turn more. But you need to check the manufacturer to be sure.

i alway set hyd lifters BEFORE putting on the intake so you can SEE if they are preloading correctly also never prime the oil system till after the hyd lifters are preloaded
