    winter storage

my car will be in a unheated garage during and I live were it gets cold, does anyone ever put any type of material on floor under tires like carpet squares or someyhing, does it do no harm to just let the tires set on the freezing concrete all winter also one member talked about (not starting) car all thru winter months, now I know about condensation and all that, but does one out there have a other opinion as to letting car run and warm up a few times during winter thanks in advance

    Re: winter storage

    Let it sit.

Put heavy plastic underneath it to prevent condensation on the bottom of the car off the concrete floor.

Do all routine preparation as we've discussed ad infinitum in the Archives.

Say "Bye Bye" and see it in April.

Re: winter storage - best solution

As usual, I will offer my guaranteed solution - send it to Florida. No salt, no cold, it gets exercised, and you have it available for the Winter Regional.

Best rates in town. Call me for a price.

Awesome solution, Mike! I'll be calling you! I'll also still be in the car when it arrives!

Paul, read back in the threads to October 7th. Look for "Winter Storage, soft top up or down". You'll get to evaluate several opinions on this.

              It might be safer

During the winter, all the old folks are down here, too.

If it's not going to be moved for 3 months, get it up off the ground and relax the suspension. I'd let air out of the tires, then refill them in the spring. Probably wouldn't hurt to throw a couple Bounce dryer sheets inside it. And don't cover it with anything but a dust cover. I needs to breath even while it's sleeping.
